Every moment makes a difference was the theme of the first annual volunteer appreciation breakfast held in the Franklin County School's Media Center on Tuesday, May 21st.
"May is a busy month for everyone but we were so happy to celebrate with our district volunteers and let them know much their service this year has meant to us", said Allison Chipman, Volunteer Coordinator.
Volunteers were greeted by Seahawk Royalty as they arrived and escorted to breakfast which was catered by the FCS Culinary Department.
The honorees were recognized for their contributions by school administrators who praised them for investing in the lives of students and giving of their time & talents. Elementary Music Teacher, Mrs. Lombardino brought her own group of student volunteers for a special musical presentation. The Seahawk cheerleaders along with Sammy the Seahawk were also a part of the celebration as they helped deliver gifts to each volunteer.
The School District stated they had around 30 registered volunteers that serve in various roles whether it be in the classroom, tutoring, mentoring, assisting in sports or clubs, participating in literacy events, proctoring for testing or judging school competitions such as the Spelling Bee. School officials are excited to see that number grow next year and welcomes all parents & community members to complete the volunteer process and be a part of the great things happening on all campuses.
